Buda Castle is hosting the Festival of Folk Arts between 17th and 20th August. Visitors can choose from the crafted artefacts of more than 800 artisans from Hungary and beyond. Traditional shoemaking is the festival theme and this year’s guest nation is Japan.

Fireworks – 20th August
August 20th is the greatest national holiday for Hungarians, celebrated with day-long festivities followed by spectacular fireworks. Festivities start in the morning with the raising of the Hungarian flag and continue on all day long, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the Danube.
